Holiday Scavenger Hunt

Brought to you by ECE

Lace up those sneakers. Charge those cell phones. And gather a team of stealthy explorers. It’s time for a holiday text message scavenger hunt in downtown Scranton!

A unique scavenger hunt that will send participants on a race through the Downtown Scranton Business District. The event runs December 7 through January 4, 2019.

The Holiday Hunt is a timed activity designed for people of all ages, including families and groups of friends. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will be awarded to the team with the best time. Here’s how it works:

Gather a team and head to Electric City Escape, 507 Linden Street, downtown Scranton, to register. Registration will be open:

December 7 through January 4

Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4:30 to 8:00 pm

Saturdays from 2:30 to 8:00 pm

Sundays from 12:00 to 6:00 pm

Receive the first text message clue, and the Holiday Hunt begins! Plot a course through the Downtown Scranton Business District, and correctly reply to clues posted in dozens of storefronts throughout the downtown until the game is complete. It takes one to two hours to finish the game. The winning team will be notified in January to collect their prize.

Along the way, participants will have a chance to enjoy festive window displays as part of Scranton Tomorrow’s Holiday Window Showcase, discover new businesses, and take in the architectural beauty of the historic downtown.  They will also have the opportunity to enjoy First Friday activities and peruse the Lackawanna Winter Market in the 200 block of Wyoming Avenue (in front of the former Globe Store), December 7 through 9.
